Dry pedicure
What is a dry pedicure?
Dry Therapeutic pedicure, or instrumental pedicure is a modern treatment method using abrasive tools rotating in high speed. Using sterile instruments to smooth and shorten your nail plate, cuticle removal, and nail wall treatment to reduce risk of an ingrown nail.
This method of pedicure is extremely gentle, very effective and suitable for at-risk groups of the population, especially for diabetics. Pedicure performed by professional devices is more careful, gentle and practically irreplaceable when solving ingrown nails.
What is the difference between a dry instrumental pedicure and a wet pedicure?
As the name suggests, in the dry pedicure, the legs are not soaked before treatment and are treated dry. For wet pedicures, a disposable scalpel is used to trim the skin, while in dry instrument pedicures grinding cutters are used to grind the legs. Six basic cutters are used to treat the legs, different shapes, each of which has its own specific task.
- Diamond cutter coarse with a short body is used to shorten, shape and reduce the nail,
- the ball cutter is used to remove cuticle,
- a nettle-shaped cutter is for grinding the nail and skin,
- the cleansing blade cutter is used to clean the nail and adjust the nail wall
- large diamond cutter coarse serves to remove the rounded layers of the skin,
- the last cutter is a carrier of disposable Lukas podo abrasive hats, which serve to final grind the leg pliers, thanks to which you get beautifully smooth legs and this is another advantage over wet pedicure, where by rimming the skin with a scalpel, unevenness on the plates arises.
Sterilization of cutters
After use, the cutters are cleaned with a brush from remaining impurities. Then prepare a 3% disinfectant solution, place the cutters in an ultrasonic cleaner and allow to act for 15 minutes. They are then removed, allowed to dry and put in a medical hot air sterilizer for at least 30 minutes at 180 degrees.
What awaits you?
First, the condition of the legs is checked. If necessary, they are sprayed with disinfectant and softener on the hard skin. Check the fingernails and fingernails. The shortening milling machine shortens and shapes the nails. Remove the cuticles with a ball cutter, grind the nail from the top with a conical milling cutter, clean the nail area and the nail wall with a cleansing milling cutter.Grind the surfaces with a large cutter and use a disposable sanding cap at the end. After that, the legs are treated with a cream from Phodofarm, it is a PROFESSIONAL PREPARATION - PODOPHARM PODOFLEX foot cream with coloster, which won the third award "GOLD CUP" FOR INNOVATIVE PRODUCT FOR PODOPHARM PODOFLEX foot cream with coloster last time at world of beauty&spa/interbeauty prague - 27.9.2019
Then it's your turn to nail. You can choose from a range of nutritional varnishes, whether colourless, which will highlight the naturalness of your nail or bleach or with glitter. They are varnishes firming and nutritious with silk and calcium. These varnishes are included. If you would like to pay extra, there is a range of Orly Breathable varnishes.
ORLY is the first brand to bring groundbreaking technology for the beauty and health of your nails - professional caring products and color varnish in one. It is an alternative to nail polishes and treatment products. Traditional varnishes form a shield on the nail that does not allow hydration and oxygen to the nail. This means that you need to give the nails rest and regeneration from time to time. ORLY Breathable varnish, on the other hand, will allow moisture/oxygen to permeate and, together with argan oil, vitamin B5 and C, get into the nails. It promotes healthy nail growth and this technology acts as a preventive against peeling and pinching. With these varnishes, you no longer need a coating and a pod. You cut the paint time in half and the paint lasts a long time.
Advantages of dry pedicure over wet
As mentioned earlier, in wet pedicure, the legs are soaked and then trimmed with a scalpel. Unfortunately, in addition to dead skin, part of the living is cut off, to which the leg reacts defensively with a larger increase in skin growth. So if you have a problem with the round skin, it's a bit of a vicious circle. Whereas in dry instrumental pedicures only the dead part of the skin is removed and the leg has no reason to grow more. From my own experience, I know several clients who had a problem with the skin and after a few visits the problem subsided. Of course, it is also important to take care of your feet and lubricate them with nutritional creams.
Another difference is that if the feet get wet and they don't look at it, a lot of things can stay hidden from us. Like cracking heels, which, especially in diabetics, but not only in them, can be a major health risk. With dry pedicures, there is no such risk, because we will immediately notice it and we can start solving the problem, when we are offered a number of cosmetic products to treat cracks on the heels.
Another advantage of dry pedicures are beautifully smooth legs compared to wet, when various bumps arise using a scalpel.

Professional pedicure appliances should have speeds up to 40,000 rpm and manicure or nail design appliances up to 22,000 rpm.Enter your text here...
The pros of waterless pedicures:
The most sanitary way to receive a pedicure (yay to no cooties!)
No cross contamination from other clients
No wasting water by filling the tub and refilling for cleaning purposes (better for our planet!)
Your feet aren't coming into contact with the harsh chemicals needed to sanitize tubs
Your polish should stay on longer when your nails aren't drenched in water
Less likelihood for minor cuts, over pushing of the cuticles, etc. because the feet haven't absorbed a ton of water and therefore become extra pliable and sensitive (which means less chance of discomfort but also less chance of open wounds leading to skin infection/disease)
A better pedicure in which the nail tech can address problem areas (such as calluses and rough skin) as they will be visible when feet aren't saturated
Diabetic friendly and safe because we are both waterless AND use podiatrist approved products
We are waterless
All instruments used on your feet are sterilized in a medical grade autoclave (an autoclave is the same machine that doctors offices use to sterilize their tools)
State regulations only require tools to be submerged in a barricade for 20 minutes to disinfect, but we go the extra mile for our clients by sterilizing in an autoclave (no yucky bacteria here!)
We use new gloves for each service
You can also use the Klenz disinfector.
It is a unique device that uses technology to use nano silver particles and ozone to get rid of shoes, as well as other objects, bacteria, mold and odours with incredible efficiency of up to 99.8%. After the pedicure, I recommend using our Klenz shoe disinfector to make sure that you put on clean shoes without mold and odor after pedicure.
